ESTABLISHMENT AND OBJECTIVES OF IHH,
As a non-profit relief and human rights organization founded in 1995, dedicates itself to alleviate human sufferings arising out of conflicts or natural disasters, and to make people in difficulties recover everywhere through relief and participatory programs by emphasizing human dignity, self-reliance, and social justice.
IHH encourages implementation of fundamental human rights and freedom like freedom of thought, of conscience, of religion, right to express his/her opinions, to organize peaceful associations, to take part in politics, and to have social security.
IHH is merely a bridge between those in need and those who are ready to Donate all they have regardlessof cast, creed, color,religion or nationality.
MISSION,
Where he or she is, victimized by conflicts or disasters, wounded or disabled, starving or homeless, oppressed in anyway should be supported by humanitarian relief and protected from all kinds of violations (Item3)
ACTIVITIES
The Foundation for Human Rights and Humanitarian Relief “IHH” operates in many fields in order to reach its basic and unique goals. The followings are the activities that “IHH” basically deals with:
HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVITIES
The organization of observing committees:
Organizing committees in order to determine and view violati0on on human rights in crisis regions.
The pursuance of the international meetings:
Participating in meetings and seminars concerning human rights to get information about new approaches and activities.
Presenting reports:
Publishing and presenting reports prepared on violation of human rights in crises regions.
Publishing articles and books: Publishing articles and books concerning violation on human rights especially in underdeveloped countries.
EMERGENCY RELIEF ACTIVITIES
The aid for basic food and other supplies: Food and clothing aid for the victims and refugees those who are in a vital hazard.
Aid for sheltering: Tent, bed, blanket etc. in order to provide shelter for thoese effected from the heavy weather conditions and have no home at all.
Aid for cleaning and disinfections: Equipment for cleaning and disinfecting the germs in the disaster areas.
Aid for technical tools:
Especially the tools, which are basic necessity for disaster areas and rescue operations.
HEALTH ACTIVITES
Treatment of wounded people: Treatment of those wounded under state of emergency circumstances in several hospitals.
Medications and other medical supplies: dispatching medications and other medical supplies to the crisis areas.
Pitching health tents:
Pitching consistent health tents for treatment of victims.
Setting up mobile hospitals:
For reaching to the remote areas by mobile hospitals.
Check-ups:
Composing health squads for regular check-ups.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Aid for stationary: Dispatching stationary facilities to maintain education in crisis area.
Accommodation facilities:
Providing hostels, homes etc. for victimized students.
Scholarship facilities:
Financial aids to proceed education of victimized students.
Educational trainings:
Scheduling educational training through organizing several courses and providing teachers.
Publishing and distributing several books:
Distributing several books in different languages to contribute to the people of the crises area.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Aid for homeless: Providing fiscal and in kind aid for destitute and homeless people.
Aid for holy sacrifice: (Cattle slaughtering)
Distributing meats every year to the needy or victimized people in the holy sacrificing festival of Moslems.
ADVERTISING AND OTHER BROADCASTING ACTIVITIES
Transmitting written and audio visualized publications:
We make the voices of people living in crisis area to be heard through publication newspapers, magazines, arranging TV. And Radio programs so as to evoke the public sentiment.
Printing booklets, brochures and posters:
Describing the crisis area and its dimensions by printing booklets, posters, brochures etc.
Press conference and consultations:
Organizing meetings for consultations and recommendations for the crisis in order to give the clear message to the public opinion.

I am a 3rd year emergency ersident in Washington, DC and I will be in Turkey November 9-20th. Is there any opportunity for me to help at a refugee camp while I am there? I am free Nov 14-20th (about a week) which I know is really short, but Id love to get involved if possible.

of ihh came to Ethiopia and help Yeteem Foundation in relief aid for nomadic people of Afar in Ethiopia. By now Yeteem get grow and working a remarkable projects in Afar and Addis
