One of the permanent projects of IHH in Africa is on service.  Hamdi Woman Education Institute is opened with a ceremony in Somali.

The `Civil war in Somali began in 1991 is still going on.  This violence has disrupted families leaving widows unprotected and devoid of work by whøch they can support themselves and left their children deprived of an education as well as health care.  The government has no money to support them nor a program to help them find employment where they can earn a living.
The Hamdi Women’s Education Institute was opened in the capital city of Somali, Mogadishu, offers education for these mothers, widows and young girls.  In addition to these 20-35 year-aged widows who have lost their husbands, the institute will work with the education of the single and married women.
Education institute consisting of 7 classrooms, 2 conference halls, 3 management offices, a mosque, a kitchen, a security office and ablution rooms will give vocational courses, religion courses, motivation courses and some manual skill courses which will give them a monetary support.
